a day late, and a...

you can add whatever you like to the end of that. i'm too busy to do it. so, where do i start?

first off, let me just say that i'm still in 'no photos' mode. my computer is just too full & add to that, a weird power surge thing that occurred just a few nights ago that rendered my computer dead. the man took it today and took a good look at it - i think only the power supply was damaged. so, i'll have my regular computer back in no time. it will also allow me to print again! yay. but i still need to work on the whole "photo" thing.

so apparently, where I last left off, I was discussing the excitement over the "peace festival" that was to be held the next day. it really was an exciting day - topped off with my meeting pierce brosnan, shaking his hand (twice) and then him mentioning our very own roots & shoots tribe on stage! very exciting indeed!

next - we went off for a few days of camping! minime was excited to spend a few days with some of her bestest friends - mini-belfry & minisoap - and they played from morning until night and simply exhausted themselves everyday. never has minime come to me at 8pm at night and asked/begged to go to bed! gotta love that! we also discovered main street in carpenteria and quickly became enamored with the antique shops and Robitaille's candy store.

kats in the belfry gives a much better - detailed & with photos - description. please give her post a looksee!

we came home to get back into the 'school' groove. hogwarts classes were to re-start (but have been post-phoned as minipaper came down with the flu). we have also been preparing for our book & history clubs. and minime's favorite dance class has also restarted with all of her best friends to play with - during and after class!

this past weekend I also participated in a scrapbooking craft show. of all weekends - it RAINS. when exactly was the last time it rained in so. california?? I'll tell you - it's been 5 months! and it chose to rain the very weekend we were to find ourselves hocking our paper products! this after a 90-100 degree 'warm" spell not but a few days earlier. yes, paper in an outdoor courtyard with rain. needless to say, we found ourselves quickly changing locations and moving inside of the store. the next day found us back outside with nice weather but slow traffic. sales were poor - but we aren't discouraged. we're hoping to do it again before the holidays.

now that the craft show is over - i'm back to readying child and i for camping. yep - we're going back & i'm really looking forward to it. since we are going with the state homeschool group, there are many activities planned by many people to keep us busy for the 5 days - Chumash Elder talks, tide pool walks, a tour of the local seaquarium, history museum tour - heck - we may even have time to sit by the fire one night! LOL I'm taking plenty of craft supplies to paint miniature wood people, to make ATC's and, of course, my crochet and others are planning for kite making, tie-dying and morning yoga! And - I would love to make it into Solvang one of the days. I think I've managed to pack us up already - and quite modularly, which i hope makes the car feel less cluttered, as opposed to having many bags of this and that all over. we will see.
i hope one day to get my photo woes under control. i have SO many pictures to share. for now - i'm off to bed. tomorrow is one less day i have for making plans - so i need to have a good night's sleep!

until i can get back...
