today - we've got plans to go to santa barbara on the train in just a couple of days. so - she has somehow managed to contract pink eye. i think...
i say 'i think' because i've just made an appointment with her doctor's office so they can take a look at it. i say 'i think' because it's not nearly as bad as the last bout - just 2 short months ago, again, just days before a train trip.
with our last 'pink eye' visit to the doctor, i'm told that after the first 24 hours, it's rendered harmless (though ugly) and it is no longer transmittable. it is now 330pm - we arrive at the train station in the early hours of wednesday - i've no time to wait and see if her eye gets really red.
as it is - if it is pink eye - she'll have to miss both dance classes tomorrow. bad timing since both companies are preparing for spring recitals - worse timing because one of the recitals is in just about 2 more weeks! in addition - I hold the solo ticket for the train trip that will allow over 90 homeschoolers to travel! I need to be there. so, we head to the doctor's office, just to be sure.
wish me luck - and a quick visit.
on the other hand - it will provide for some uninterrupted crochet time.....
update: we saw the doctor and he wasn't really sure what it is. it half looks like allergy, half like infectious stuff. but it's only in one eye - so likely not allergy and there is no discharge, so doesn't think it bacterial, leaving it to be viral. the result is that there will be several warm compresses over the next couple of days - backed up with eye drops - just in case. we will make the train! whew
and i did take advantage of the crochet time! nothing finished - but much accomplished!
