doing my civic duty...

if you haven't heard - homeschooling has been under attack. not from martians (who might be easier to defend ourselves from) but from the California courts. there was a ruling in february that threw homeschooling into a tailspin. are we legal? (we are) are we all going to have to put our kids back into the school system? (we won't). it's been scary.

the decision in the case was vacated and a new hearing will take place in the not too distant future. this time, however, the court is also going to accept filings to be made by all of the state wide homeschool support groups giving information to the court about homeschooling.

in the meantime - Representative Anderson (R-77th) has written up legislation to support homeschoolers in the state. It's the job of homeschoolers to get the rest of the legislature on board with this. It's a group efffort.

I have the pleasure of contacting Representative Curren Price (D- 51st) to gain his support. He "seems" to be supportive - but hasn't yet followed up by actually jumping on the wagon. I'm working on him... but it's hard to convince them we aren't all conservative, Christian, Republican and white.

So, this helps explain my erratic posting schedule. I'm just busy. but, it's for a good cause...
